Sanctification.Online
Dedicated to helping believers in Jesus
become as sanctified as they possibly can be during the remainder of their life on earth.
Sanctification Ration # 1
We became
positionally sanctified in full
at the moment we were saved, but we must work out our practical sanctification
during our remaining lifetime.

Sanctification Ration # 2
One who is practically sanctified is Set Apart, Holy, Obedient and Fruitful – like Christ. It is a matter of degree; it’s progressive.

Sanctification Ration # 3
We do not become practically sanctified by human action apart from the work of the Holy Spirit. We don’t do it man’s way, but God’s way.

Sanctification Ration # 4
Our role in sanctification is
not passive, but active
in response to the Spirit, and proactive in seeking interaction with the Spirit
(even as we submit to Him).

Sanctification Ration # 5
Whereas contending with
the ‘old self’ might be
a lifetime pursuit in general,
that does not mean that
each problem in our character we face will take our
whole lifetime to overcome.

Sanctification Ration # 6
Our goal is not to be merely
more like Jesus,
and less like our old,
pre-regeneration self.
We are not to become
more pure, more holy.
No, our goal is to
completely eliminate
the crucial difference between Jesus and us,
that we too would be
pure, holy, righteous, godly, perfect and complete
in our “behavior,” our “heart,”
our “body" and "spirit.”

Sanctification Ration # 7
Kevin DeYoung sees it this way: “The reason for your entire salvation, the design behind your deliverance, the purpose for which God chose you
in the first place is
holiness.”
The Hole in Our Holiness, 25-26.
Sanctification Ration # 8
Andrew Murray says one thing well: "Christ has redeemed us not only from the curse but from the power of sin, and
He gives us His resurrection life and power to enable us
to live as He did on earth.”
Like Christ, 158.
Sanctification Ration # 9
John Pieper writes something useful: “Fighting sin is not easy.
No one ever coasted into
greater godliness.
Christian growth takes effort.
But we are not left alone.
God loves to work the miracle of sanctification within us as we struggle for daily progress
in holiness.”
Acting the Miracle, 1.
Sanctification Ration # 10
The Born Again are
meant to become
mighty spiritual overcomers
in the Lord
with characters like that of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ,
in this lifetime.
